Vincent Joe Platero, Sr. grew up as part of the Navajo Edgewater and Black Streak Clans and learned his craft from his mother, Helen Chavez. Currently residing in Tohajiilee, New Mexico, his distinctive style is recognized and respected in collector’s circles and is stamped with his signature, “VJP”. 
 
Featured in galleries around the country, Vincent has also won awards at the New Mexico State Fair and the Denver Indian Market. His silverware has been noted since the 1970’s, and he designs and creates a full range of jewelry. His sampler concho belts, many with traditional rug patterns, his dragonfly and butterfly pins, and his deep, strong stamp work are often what is associated most with Vincent’s striking and unique style.

Shop our collection of North American Turquoise cabs, rough, strands and companion stone for jewelry makers and lapidary artisans. We provide distinctive stone from our mines in Nevada and high-grade turquoise coming out of Arizona and New Mexico, as well as collectible turquoise from around the world.
