Established in 1972, and located in Albuquerque, N.M., Sunwest Silver Co Inc is your comprehensive industry source for handmade Native American jewelry from New Mexico, sterling silver charms & jewelry findings, and turquoise & lapidary stone.
Sunwest Silver Co Inc is a family owned business that began with Ernest Montoya selling beautiful Native American handmade jewelry out of his car on the road, after he came back from Vietnam. By 1972 he had established what we know today as Sunwest Silver Co Inc.
Today, the Montoya family works together every day, still following their passion for Turquoise and beautiful Native American handmade jewelry and arts. As the owner and operator of five turquoise mines in the Southwestern USA, we provide distinctive stone for our jewelry artists, and fulfill our love of mining! Whether you are an avid collector, producing your own jewelry or new to the Turquoise addiction, we can supply you with the Turquoise of your choice in handmade Native American jewelry, rough, cabochons, beads or chips.
More about Sunwest.
Handmade Native American & Southwest Style Jewelry
We provide the industry with collectible handmade Southwestern style jewelry created by Native American artisans, Shop a variety of new and emerging jewelry artists, and highly sought-after collections from both local Pueblo and New Mexico artists.
Artisan made jewelry is stamped with a clear Makers Mark or Hallmark, allowing wholesale jewelry shoppers to identify the artists. Sunwest Silver Co jewelry lines created in-house are marked with a simple Sterling Silver stamp verifying and guaranteeing Sterling Silver was used in the making, or with our own registered trademark.
Southwest jewelry traditions and trends remain complementary, and Liquid Silver jewelry is one of the oldest forms of heishi jewelry, and a very popular style of Sterling Silver jewelry. Our in-house design and production team create lines of Liquid Silver jewelry that can be purchased finished or customized for your brand. Ask us about our Liquid Silver jewelry towers for your retail locations.
We also create a multi-color stone & sterling silver jewelry lines under the same premise. You can purchase trending & popular jewelry styles finished, or work with our design team to customize jewelry for your brand. Our Sterling Liquid Silver jewelry and beaded multi-color stone jewelry lines include earrings, bracelets, cuffs, and necklaces in single and multiple strands.
Our Sterling Silver OxyBead© Collection is also a finished or customizable line for wholesale shoppers. Southwestern fashionistas love OxyBeads© with stone or alone, layering with multiple strands or simple singles. The striking contrast of the oxidized Sterling Silver with polished Sterling being a traditional look in the Southwest. OxyBeads are not to be confused with Navajo Pearls, which is a trade name used for handmade Sterling Silver beads created by traditional Navajo silversmiths. The making of these beads is a tradition often handed down through generations of silversmiths in a family. Navajo Pearls are an artform with the price tag of a collectible handmade item. You will find both OxyBead© and traditional handmade Navajo Pearl jewelry available for our wholesalers and individually identified. Contact Pam to discuss customized Liquid Silver, OxyBead© or beaded jewelry for your brand.
